I'm planning on installing a Mach 1 shaker hood on my 02 Mustang GT here soon and I need some feedback. I personally don't like the hood "insert" that comes with the package.

As you can see from the picture below, it just doesn't look that great.

That being said, here is my car right now:

I really love the silver coming down the middle and I'd like to keep that if possible. So, I did a quick (and crappy) rendering of what I could do to keep the same "feel"

(I know it looks white, just pretend its silver)

So, My question to you is, should I paint it silver to match my rocker stripes, or just leave it to match the paint?

If I could get my hands on an actual Mach 1 hood I would go for that instead!

I think the silver looks great, but I would save the time and money and just enjoy that sweet new hood as is.

option 1-get Mach 1 hood

option 2-get Mach 1

option 3-get shaker hood and plastic dip to match rocker stripes

option 4-leave it how it is

I say option 1 or 3.

Well, Option 2 is my favorite, but it doesn't agree with my bank account.

I'll take option 3! haha plastic dip didn't even cross my mind! (thanks for the reminder)
